As a vegan, I really appreciate the fact that SBP carries a non-dairy cheese (Daiya) so I can have any pizza on the menu (minus the meat). This is a simple thing for a pizza place to do to accommodate more people (vegans and those with dairy allergies), but few go the extra mile. I went there with my extended family after a trip to the beach, and everyone was very happy with the pizzas. I wish the website was working so I could remember what I ordered, but it was delicious with grilled asparagus and mushrooms among other things. I visited while on a mini-vacation; however, this was so good that I may make a special trip the next time I am close to the area. What a great restaurant for a beach town!

There are certain places that have an item you cannot find or reproduce no matter how hard you try... This place is an example of that! To be exact the pizza.... The Greek pepperoni pizza.... The crust is ... Crispy.... Chewy amazing! They sauce is spicy, aromatic and almost erotic... The toppings are flavourful and fresh ... yet not overpowering... Just right! Just right..... To add something else the hot b spicy baked wings to start are so good ... U wouldn't know they were baked.... So crispy and juicy.... Foodgasm damn!... Gotta change my shirt .... Drooled all over it while waiting for the food.. This place gets super busy in the summer... Be prepared to wait ... It's worth it!

Definitely a regular stop on our summer vacation now. SO good. Our favorites are the meat pizza...SO many amazing toppings with a perfectly crisped thin crust... And my personal favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza. . Better than any chain anywhere. And Kris, our server, was perfect for our large group. My only complaint us that we can't visit more often!

  • Eric B.

The food is great - the staff is excellent - the location is perfect! Only problem - too busy, which I'm sure they love! Call ahead for a pick-up pizza is the go-to in the summer months!

I'm only giving 3star because the service was terrible. We waited 15 minutes to put in our drink order, another 15 to give our food order and lastly another 20 for 2 small pizzas. I wouldn't have mind it but there was another table that got 2 large pizzas and they had ordered before us. The only thing that was quick was getting the bill :( Other than bad service, their pizzas were good and the portions were big. *Note you can order a half and half pizza if the two have the same sauce.

Update: I would try this restaurant again due to the owners response which leaves me impressed; this was my reply..... ["Thank you for the reply. I can honestly say I was disappointed in the pizza I received; maybe it was that night. Many people talked it up and it was an epic fail for me. If I was ever to come up I would try again. The sad shame about the window was the fact that your dining room was packed and there was no one at the walk up window since it was evening time. I was shocked when she said those were the rules since we are soo busy. I looked around and said but I am the only one out here. The kicker was the phone call. I was up for a conference toward the end of July and did not feel like eating hotel food. Again thank you for taking the time to reply."] Honestly, I cannot say much about this place. The way everyone in the area spoke about this being THE absolute best pizza is beyond my comprehension. It was definitely an off night for their pizza. I walk up to the window and the girl apologizes, tells me that I have to call my order in, and wait. So get this......I use my cell phone, called in-in front of that window, and the same girl answers the phone at the window! WTF????????? LOL!!!! Too much.

I was very skeptical of this place's high reviews... I mean, it's just pizza, right? I don't even like pizza. But we walked past it enough times on our way to and from the beach this week, so I figured why not see what all the fuss is about? We came pretty early for dinner so we were seated right away. Service was fast and friendly. They gave my 3 year old a little container of raw dough to play with, which she loved. As I mentioned, I don't really like pizza and I normally try to eat paleo... but there were so many options on the menu that still somehow caught my eye. I finally decided to be reasonable and do the cheese-less pizza on gluten free crust (I think it was called Dave's Pizza?). It had chicken and sausage and bacon and a bbq/franks sauce. OH. MY. GOD. The best pizza I've ever had. Not kidding. I was sad when my stomach filled up. My three year old loved her Mac and cheese and applesauce and my beer was cold and delicious. This place is well deserving of their amazing rating. Turns out, the line is usually long for a reason!

The Pizza is good no doubt. Salads look great from a distance. Waitress said the medium pizza would feed 2-3. Two if you are both 16 year old boys. Heavy toppings on a good sized base. With an appetizer we took half home.

I stopped in for a schooner of beer with my husband. We sat at the bar and the bartender brought our beers right away. It was very crowded in Saturday afternoon but I thought we still had decent service. We did not eat in this visit but I know from past visits that the pizza is awesome!! It was chilly over the weekend so they did not have the windows open. The best time to eat at Silver Beach Pizza is on a warm sunny day! It looks like they are adding on to the restaurant & bar. I will have to visit again soon and look at the improvements. Overall- great view of Lake Michigan, delicious tasting food, and attentive servers. I will go the next time I'm in St. Joe!!

Highly recommended from the hostess all the way to the final bite. Great service, good beer on tap, absolutely will be back. Being from Chicago I was doubtful about the pizza, but this place does it right. Something there for everyone...kids, mom/dad, grandma, grandpa. Right next to train tracks, which are right next to beach. A must if in St. Joe. You won't be disappointed.

Being from Boston area may make me bias but this was just blah pizza. Our expectations were peaked after hearing people on street talk about how good it was and a retailer in area strongly suggested we don't eat any other pizza. We went to eat about 7 pm and we were told we had a 3!!!!! Hour wait. So we ordered take out at take out window where girl taking order was clearly not happy with her job. I asked if onions and peppers were put on pizza raw and she said "I don't know" offered nothing more. The taste of pizza was as bland and uninteresting as the girl at the window. Not to mention the whacky way they cut it?!?! Square pieces on a round pie?!? Pizza with no crust?!? Will not go back.

Excellent service, very efficient staff, excellent waiter and good pizza. Crowded with a line out the door. Line moved quickly and seated with an order in the kitchen in the time it took to park and walk back to to door. When we're back in St Joseph we'll be back.

Pizza was good. Would get the pizza again. Calzone was not good: doughy & need knife/fork to eat. Would not get again. But the Calzone was stuffed with ingredients. Medium Calzone is more than enough for one person.

I love this pizza place. It's one of the best ones I have had, and within walking distance from the beach, which makes it very convenient. Try the carousel...one of my favorites!

  • Michael J.

It looks good but was just ok. It's close to the beach and that's why I believe it's popular. The pizza was mediocre. Service was barely ok. I just was dissapointed in the the pizza...I'm from NY.... originally. .. this place is not in the hall of fame... just in the hall!

There are a few great things about this place. First, the atmosphere is cool. The restaurant is in a 100 year old train station, right on the shores of Lake Michigan. The windows are open air, with the cool lake breeze blowing into the restaurant in the evening. This is a great place to see the sunset in the evening. While we were here this evening, an Amtrak train dropped off passengers. It was cool because the train drove by about 20 feet away from the building. Second, the pizza was excellent. We ordered a wing appetizer and a small Garlic Greek Pizza. The wings were just OK, but the pizza was delicious. The Garlic Greek is a peperoni pizza with fresh garlic and rushed red pepper. It was unlike any other pizza I have eaten. It was a little spicy, but not overwhelming. Third, they had a decent amount of craft beer. Their uniqueness was that the beers were served in a large chilled glass goblet called a Schooner. The Schooner was a little odd for me, as it weighed a couple pounds. I prefer a pint glass. The only downfall is the potentially long wait. I have waited anywhere between 1/2 hour - 1 1/2 hours for a table. Overall, this place is a must for all travelers going to this area. I have been to this restaurant every time I have visited St Joseph.

  • Jay Z.

Pro: Great atmosphere. Good beer selection. Typically the service is pretty good. The food is fantastic. Con: The mixed drinks are a bit weak usually. Not worth it. Be careful using your credit card. I have had multiple instances whereby my credit card ends up getting charged for more than I authorize. Typically it is $2-5. Very frustrating. If I had to rate them based on food, ambience, drink - it would be a 4+. However, the credit card thing ticks me off.

Meh. It probably would have been better piping hot. They lost track of my order and I ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes after showing up 40 minutes after I ordered (was promised 35 minutes to wait when I called). The fresh pizza that was duplicated was pretty good, but not really worth the price I paid.

This place is hyped because of the location and proximity to the beach. It is popular because it is a pizza shop on a beach. People will carry out and take it to the sand or up the hill to watch the sunset which is exactly what we did. Call to order ahead, and make your way up the stairs to get front row seats to an amazing summer sunset. The pizza itself was not anything out of the ordinary. the cheesy garlic bread is basically pizza crust, with pizza cheese, garlic butter, no sauce. The pizza sauce had a meaty taste to it, not sure if the marinara has meat in the sauce, but it shouldn't. I was excited to finally be getting my pie after a few visits to this beach! There is always a massive wait for a table, just go to the window and take it to a picnic table nearby. No soda at the window but there is a Coke vending machine at 1.50 a bottle.

This is our second year coming here. Last year we were pleasantly surprised, having arrived with no expectations. This year proved that this is no flash in the pan. Great pizza. Far superior to the standard fare elsewhere with innovative topping combinations as well as traditional options. Salads were very good also, no skimping on ingredients. This place is worth the drive from Chicagoland alone. The unique setting just adds to the experience.

This was our first trip to Silver Beach Pizza while staying at St. Joseph's KOA. After looking at the menu online, we decided it was worth the 20 minute drive. We got there and were told it would be an hour wait, but that's to be expected on a warm Saturday night. We were told that we'd get a text when a table became ready, so we sat outside and waited. Since it was such a lovely evening, we didn't mind. We sat on the bench at were people watching. The restaurant doubles as a train station, so the railroad tracks run parallel to it. I captured a video of a train coming at me down the tracks which was pretty cool. The beach is nearby, so people were trekking the beach bags from the water and making their way to the restaurant to join the waiting crowd. After 45 minutes, we were called into the restaurant. We had a great seat at a high table next to the large, garage door style windows which were open. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza which was fabulous! We especially loved the efficiency of the wait staff and the restaurant's great idea of having a double-sided disk with red on one side and green on the other side. If you need service, you simply place the disk green side up, and the waitress will come over to take care of you. If you don't want to be disturbed, you put the red side up. I wish every restaurant employed this method of notifying the wait staff when their customers either need service, or when they simply want to be left alone! It's so simple and effective. Most places either totally ignore you, or they ask you twenty times within 15 minutes, "How is everything?" Overall, we loved Silver Beach Pizza and will definitely go back there! I highly recommend it to anyone who's never been there to make it a destination.

If you're from Chicago, this is your go-to thin crust pizza place when in Michigan. We go up to South Haven every summer and spend an afternoon in St. Joe. The pizza has an extra thin crust. They have a little take-out window outside where you can order. We do this and the pizzas are ready fast and we eat them at a picnic table or on the beach. Chicago pizza lovers should be pleased.

One would think that a pizza place close enough to the beach that you can smell the fish would allow bathing suits but no!Welcome to the "the better side of the river attitude". Most of the wait staff had more revealing clothes on than the vulgarly indecent halter top style bathing suit my 8 yr old daughter had on. It was our first time here and it came highly recommended. The breadsticks and cheese were great, the cheese and pepperoni pizza was Dominos quality or worse. My 11 and 8 yr old kids wouldn't eat more than 1/2 a piece. Kind of amazing that with as much Chicago influence as is here the pizza isn't better.

We decided to try Silver Beach Pizza over a girls getaway weekend. Great location to enjoy a St Joe sunset! Pizza was great and very similar to Auerlio's in the Chicago area. Beer was great. Waiter was great. We dined here over a summer weekend and expected the wait to be long so we were ready. It was a perfect evening so we asked to sit in the open-air area. We had to wait an addition 20 minutes or so but that was what we wanted so it was cool. Great place! Can't wait to go back!

  • Chelli P.

ABSOLUTELY the best Pizza in St. Joseph! Our wait was a bit long, but I love their call ahead seating arrangement. You call in, put your name on the seating list, give them your phone number and they text you when your table is ready, then you have 5 minutes to get to the restaurant. Their pizza is one of a kind. Their seasoning is just right! I would definitely return and recommend them to my friends!

  • Keith O.

Pizza is really good, nice crispy crust, good ingredients. Greek salad was average. Definitely order to go, as the wait to eat there easily goes over 1 hour.

  • Kelli J.

Yes, they're busy, but if you take advantage of the open seating at the bar, it's not a long wait. This is one of the few places open late on Sunday evening. Great environment, attentive staff and pizza with Franks and blue cheese! Absolutely perfect!

Found this place on Yelp during a recent trip from Ohio. I absolutely love the location. What could be better than an awesome pizza place in an old train station at the beach? Right, nothing. The place was fun, our waiter was terrific, and everything from the toppings to the crust on the pizza was amazing. It is very clear to me why this place has so many positive reviews. My whole family loved it. I normally don't review restrooms, but I will if they are exceptionally bad or exceptionally great. The restroom was decorated just as nicely as the rest of the restaurant and it was extremely clean. I don't remember the exact wording, but there was a little sign on the mirror saying something to the effect that they wanted this to be the best restroom experience you've ever had, and I think they just might have accomplished that.

As a local, I've been here dozens of times. The food, of course, is practically infallible... The pizza (Garlic Greek, no meat or UJ's! ) is delicious. Never had a soggy frickle. Irish nachos (no bacon) - oh my god. Cheryl's salad (cranberries on the side) - Yum. I had an overdressed salad one time (I think it was the Greek). But I'm always happy. But even beyond the food, Silver Beach Pizza is so impressive. They are always coming up with a solution to a problem you didn't even know you had. Phone chargers at the bar. Music in the bathroom (why doesn't everyone do that?!). Also in the bathroom - a thing that helps you open the door with your foot :) Pizza risers! A new second floor THAT CATERS TO LOCALS! (We have reservations next weekend!) And then there's the staff. No matter how crazy the crowd, they are calm and attentive. The best. But... lucky you if you get January Jones :)

3rd time visiting this place in the last couple of years. If you are in southwest Michigan and craving a good pie this is the place (at least if you are looking for Chicago style thin crust). It rivals a few of the Chicago institutions. Good appitizers and good selection of craft beer round out the experiences that I have had. If you go on a weekend night in the summer expect an hour wait or so. The other great part about this place is the to go window. If you do not want to wait call ahead pick up a pizza, they will also hook you up with plates and napkins, and you can eat and people watch at the splash pad next door. Or take a walk up the stairs and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. As for the pizza itself it is great. Thin..ish crust. Not cracker thin, but just right. If you dont get it to go it is crispy too. **side note if someone can come up with a way to keep pizza in a to go box they would make millions.** The ingredients have always been fresh. Their Italian sausage they use is top notch! We have tried the Margarita pizza too and it is really good. We have never been disappointed by the food. My only issues have ever been with service. I have had a couple of servers that just either don't want to be there or have already had a long night. A little personality goes a long way to making an enjoyable experince. But if you want a great pizza in a land of Pizza Huts and Little Caesars this is a place to check out!

Walked by here every time we go to silver beach and never ventured in for a bite. Went there one afternoon and the place was packed. Ordered a beer and it came in a nearly frozen schooner and man was it good. Something about ice cold beer on a warm summer day. Ordered the vegetarian with sausage, fabulous. If you are not big on garlic, might not be the pizza for you bc you can really taste the garlic which I loved. Will definitely stop in every time we visit silver beach.

Excellent pizza, well done and the ingredients go well together. I would recommend the garlic Greek to anyone who likes pepperoni with a twist. The server was very friendly and always made sure we had what we needed. If in St. Joes make sure to come. Note: the wait times here can be very long.

A must try when you are in the area. A unique place to enjoy really great pizza. Ordered the jalapeño shrimp and garlic cheese pizza. Bring the whole gang to enjoy the place and food.

LOTS of hype, which is usually a bad sign, but this place delivered. We had a pizza with sausage and artichokes, and it was great. Good balance between cheese, sauce, and toppings. Sauce was really tasty, very well seasoned. Would definitely come here again. Expect a wait!

This is one of my favorites when i drive to Grand Rapids from Chicago, a perfect in the middle pit stop, which overlooks Lake Michigan. The Amtrak train stops right in front, and if you're on the train, you probably wish you could grab a pizza. Service is always excellent. The ice cold schooners of beer are amazing and cheap- two Blue Moons for $11 and change! The pizzas is excellent as well, with lots of cheese and lot of flavor. I would come here every weekend if I could. I'd say this is in my top ten pizza places around. The wait list can get long in the summer, so beware. Our wait was 45 minutes, but we grabbed a beer and the time was up in no time. Be sure to wear shoes and a shirt if you want service!

Pizza at sunset on the beach in a train depot! The only thing blocking our view was the dang train! LOL I am embarrassed to say we stopped for pizza at the window the following two days. I am sure there are so many restaurants more than worthy of trying, but it was so good, my kids kept wanting to go back.

  • Melissa L.

Ehhh I am not sure if it was the build up but it as just... Pizza. It wasn't bad but would I drive an hour away to get this no. The ingredients you could tell were fresh and the taste was good but just not mind blowing. A lot if people had told me how great it was and I am not sure if it was all the hype that made me disappointed but it was just pizza. Nothing special about it to me.

I love silver beach pizza! Every time I come to St. Joseph this place is a must! We eat here at least twice when we come. The four cheese pizza is to die for! Also, the wators give the kids raw pizza dough to play with! Silver Beach Pizza is amazing!

  • Heidi P.

The location is interesting but the food is solidly mediocre. We had pizza, salad and sandwiches and the frickles. Okay, not great. The service was much better than the food. Go, if you don't have to wait for hours, to take in the atmosphere but keep a low bar set for the food so you won't be disappointed.

Great service. Tons of beer options for good price. Great pizza. Definitely somewhere to go while in St. Joe's.

Good food and nice waitstaff. Always busy when we're here and I love the location...Beautiful views of the water and passing trains and its walkable from downtown St Joseph. We enjoy their Sicilian pizza, crisp salads and good beer selection including the basics and several of michigan craft beers.

Ok, so this is our second time to Silver Beach Pizza. The first time, they were so busy we just opted to go elsewhere. This time we we had more time to spend and opted to wait. They said the wait would be 1 hour 15 mins and it was right at 1 hour 20-25 mins, so pretty accurate. The atmosphere is festive and lively, it's an old train station and while we ate a train passed by. Our 4 year old was in heaven. It is a bit cramped, but they were very busy. Overall, fantastic atmosphere. Now, for the food. We were HUNGRY! We ordered the breadsticks, 5 for $4, and the spinach dip $7.00. We additionally ordered a medium Whirlpool pizza $18 (advertised as everything but the kitchen sink) and a small cheese $10, for the little one. The breadsticks were good, not great, but good. Olive Garden is definitely better. The two sauces were marinara and a cheese. The marinara, while a little chunky with tomatoes was actually fairly bland, like it was missing seasonings. The cheese was simply the jalapeño cheese from a can. The spinach dip was just ok. It also seemed like it was lacking something. It is obviously premade and microwaved (served in a paper insert set in a glass dish.) The pizza itself was just decent. If the same marinara used for the breadsticks is what is used on the pizza, it did have a better flavor on the pizza. I believe that they are better than most national chains, but there are some local places in Indy (where we live) that are much much better. Again, not trying to say it was bad, just not what I expected for the wait time and reviews I have seen. I believe that the location, having a full bar, and no other pizza place within such proximity to the beach may be what drives the popularity. The service was good and the staff was very nice. The open air seating section is great and makes for a extremely picturesque setting. It's good, just not great, but the setting is awesome. Next time, we will probably go to Bucks atop the hill again, the food and service were both great there, although their view is lacking in comparison. I can walk the beach for a view. When I am hungry, I want great food.

My wife and I ate here at 5 pm on Thursday evening in late August, 2015. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was very good and we enjoyed the pizza a great deal. We ordered a "combo" pizza without some of the toppings normally included in the combo. Pizza was delivered exactly as ordered. Pizzas are thin crust and ours was perfectly baked with a good crunchiness. Not the best pizza we've ever had, but pretty darn close.

    (4)
  • Pathik B.

This place is always busy for a reason. Simply put: this is one of the tastiest thin-crust pizzas I have ever had. Order for carryout if you don't want to wait a long time and just eat outside at a nearby picnic table or take it to the beach down the street.

Our favorite pizza place anywhere. Kids love it, especially because they get to play with a ball of dough while they wait. They call it "the place with the dough." Food is fantastic, service always fun and friendly and they do a great job getting big crowds through efficiently. We were here most recently on the 4th of July and despite enormous crowds, everything seemed to be going off without a hitch. They know what they're doing at Silver Beach Pizza! Only wish we lived closer so we could be regulars.

I love reading such great reviews for a local restaurant! Silver Beach Pizza, SBP to us locals, does everything right, and that is why it is so highly recommended for the small beach town of St. Joseph, Michigan. The Goods: Is anything better than watching the sun set on Lake Michigan on a warm summer day? Yes, having a schooner in hand while doing so. Schooners at SBP are always cold and frosty and give you a great start to a good night. I thoroughly enjoy the Ace Pear Cider, but Oberon, sangria, Two Hearted, Summer Shandy, Budlight, etc. are all equally tasty in these wonderful goblets. The Betters: The place loves both tourists and locals! This is a HUGE plus when going to a restaurant in St. Joseph and being a native resident. You don't have to cry when winter rolls around because SBP doesn't close their doors! They're open year round! Friends, this only means we get to enjoy the pizza on a longer basis than our summer Chicago-fugitives! The Best: Okay, the pizza. I am all for deep dish pizzas in Chicago, and no, SBP cannot compare to those... but it's also not in the same category! SBP makes THIN crust pizza. And, boy, is their thin crust delicious. It has the perfect amount "hanging over the edge" to become crunchy, and that is what I love in terms of thin crust pizza. SBP also does not skimp on toppings. Whether I get the BBQ chicken, the Carousel, or one of their monthly options, the toppings are always evenly scattered and supply the most amazing amount of flavor. Side note: Please, please, PLEASE bring back that amazing kale-butternut squash pizza in October again! 2015 will be ruined if you don't... The Bad: Being so great, SBP has a long wait during the summer months. Anticipate at least a two hour wait if you're coming from Silver Beach on a summer night. Might as well put your name on the list and go for a walk on the pier, ride the carousel, and grab a cone from Cabanas while you wait for the text saying your table is ready. And be prepared to get really excited every time your phone buzzes, thinking the possibility of a text from SBP has arrived earlier than expected. Here's a not-so-much secret in case you don't want to wait two hours though... Call in your order and pick it up at the pick-up window. The wait time usually drops an hour or so if you take this route! I am a hardcore SBP fan and am so happy that this business has only continued to succeed in my hometown. Looking forward to the new addition also!

INCREDIBLE PIZZA. Perfect location by the beach! Long wait, but incredible pizza!!! The BBQ chicken pizza is insane. Truly one of the best pizzas I have had in my life. The crust is cooked to perfection and was done perfectly. Our service was great and took care of our party of 17 with no problem. My drinks were always filled and was very prompt to get us anything we need.

First let me state that I'm not a fan of thin crust pizza. Never could wrap my head around the idea of pizza crust being thin and cracker like. Crust is supposed to be the delicious foundation in which the pizza is founded on (I'm very serious and picky about my pizza). My friends and boyfriend begged me to give this place a try. I'm glad I did as I liked for other reasons besides the pizza. The place is charming and right on Lake Michigan. It is connected to the St Joseph Amtrak station so you get a cool view of trains passing by. The service was top notch. Went on a Thursday which was martini night for $5 (any kind of vodka or gin). Our waitress was smart and friendly. She noticed my martini wasn't dirty (how I ordered it) and promptly came back to fix it. They feature their own Silver Beach wine and we each ordered a glass. Sweet and light. Definitely a summer wine. Boyfriend and I ordered the bread sticks and they were great with both marinara and a cheese sauce. Appetizers were half off from 4-6pm so we scored those carbalicious gems for $2. We shared the small antipasto salad and there was plenty for us both to have second helpings. The pizza. OK now again I'm not a fan of thin crust at all. Sorry but Silver Beach did not convert me. The toppings were fresh and the crust homemade. No denying it's quality pizza but the crust just wasn't that flavorful. I have a hard time understanding the thin crust rage. Overall, great service and fresh quality food. Thin crust lovers will enjoy this place. I'll enjoy it for the view, the wine and the martinis.

Just like Redamaks about 20 minutes south of St. Joseph, this is one of my yearly excursions to Southwest Michigan. The atmosphere, hospitality, and quality of food does not get better than SBP! As all the reviewers commented, yes; you're going to have to wait a while during the heart of summer. However, a hidden secret is the new upper deck they added. If you're a member of Open Table, you can make reservations and bypass the 1-2 hour wait that you'll experience during a warm summer evening. The drinks they serve are well worth the money. My last guest ordered a Long Island IceTea and unlike most tourist stops, they did not skimp on the liquor. The beers on tap are very fresh and come served in an ice covered Schooner perfect for a hot summer day. If you're from Northwest Indiana, you heard about Gelsosemo's Pizza and that is what they serve. Like every Gels, each restaurant's pizza is a bit different and for some reason I prefer the chef's version here. Sweet sauce with spicy sausage, very thin cracker like crust. I am a Chicago guy who loves his Uno's, but this is some of the best thin stuff out there! The service is exceptional and the Costas keep up to date with the latest technology. Fancy bathrooms with touch free doors. Hostesses use iPads to check in and send a text when your table is ready. 'Stop and Go' coasters at each table to let the waitress know if you need something. Utilization of Open Table and also the owner checking Yelp! often and leaving feedback on poor experiences. The only drawback is the parking. However, another hidden secret about SBP is they will reimburse you for parking by the carousel and give you your $5 back. How many times have I went down that narrow strip of parking by the tracks and having to back up my huge SUV due to no parking....I'll definitely take advantage of this!!! I'll be headed there once again tonight and I'm excited to receive superb service and pizza as usual. Well worth the trip!!!! -Bob

Thanks Yelp for bringing this awesome pizza place to my attention! We were on our way back to Chicago and decided to stop for lunch here. Probably one of my better restaurant experiences in the last few months. Service- our server Mackenzie was efficient/attentive. We were seated on the patio a few feet from the bar. They have a disk system red/green similar to Brazilian steakhouses except opposite meaning now that I think about it. Here, green means leave me alone and red means help me plz. This worked out perfectly since I hate trying to get the servers attention especially on a busy Saturday afternoon. We would flip the disk to red and within a minute or two, voilà our server appears Pizza- based on the Yelp reviews, we ordered the Garlic Greek. I also ordered the UJ's Sunburst which was a veggie pizza consisting of asparagus, tomato, summer squash, and cilantro. Both were amazing. I really like thin crust pizza and this is probably one of the best I've had. The vegetables were super fresh and it was the perfect summer pizza. Also, I need to know where they buy their cheese... I couldn't speak with my friend until I finished my slice of each... Wanted to just be present and enjoy the moment, y'know. We couldn't finish all the pizza so I got to relive the moment the next day and it was as amazing as I remembered it. Overall- I can't wait to come back. I really get the feeling that the owners are invested in the place. The bathrooms are amazing and clean, especially for such a busy place. It's well staffed and everyone seems to enjoy working there.

This might be the best pizza I've had outside of Chicago. Love love love it! Thin style, not super thin though. The seasoning on the pizza is delicious. HUGE menu so not just pizza. Love the beer selection and decoration. The location is awesome, near the beach and on the train tracks. I love the garage theme. Try to sit outside or with a view of outside. The inside area is kind of dark and not as fun. Seems like a good place to watch a game too. I'm having my wedding next month in Benton Harbor and I talked to the owner of Silver Beach Pizza a few weeks ago. He agreed to keep the kitchen open later than usual if I bring my crew after the wedding for the "after party". So nice and so excited for that. I can't wait to bring people here, they will love it!

Like many of the other reviewers here, I'm a SB Pizza fanatic. Although I am echoing many of the below sentiments, I just have to say this is DAMN GOOD PIZZA. Good pizza for Michigan. Good pizza for Chicago. Good pizza, period. Whenever I'm in Southwest Michigan, SB Pizza is always a pit-stop. The Garlic Greek pizza is my favorite, and it's just about perfect, from the chewy crust to the spicy red pepper. Just, MMMMM. [Side note: I'm a bit confounded as to what is Greek about this pizza, since its toppings consist of pepperoni, red pepper, and garlic.] The salads are also quite good and usually are served in hearty portions. The cat has clearly been out of the bag about this pizza joint for awhile, because it's always packed. On my last visit, we sat on a picnic table outside the restaurant, which was great, because we had our dog with us. Just be prepared to wait, especially in peak-tourist (summer) season in St. Joe's. Alas, it is worth the wait.

Love this pizza! I am never disappointed with any type I order. Terrific staff. I try to get in everytime I am in St. Joe.

We spent a morning at Silver Beach playing at the park and then took a ride on the carousel. We decided to stop in afterwards and get a pizza. We were a little surprised when we walked in. The place was really nice inside. We had no wait for a group of 10 on a weekday but we got their within 15 minutes of opening. There was a wait when we left. We ordered three pizzas. The silver beach veggie, the whirlpool wonder and a cheese pizza. All were very good. Can't say it was the best pizza I have ever ate but it would take something awesome to accomplish that. Better than 90% of the pizza restaurants I have eaten at. A nice place to eat if you are in the area.

There is a reason this place is always packed. The aroma of the pizza draws people in from the beach. We got 3 pizzas for 13 people and had plenty left over. All were delicious. The crust is perfect snd the toppings are super fresh. We got a standard pepperoni, Hawaiian, and the sicilian. All were out of this world great. Definitely get it to go if you can.

Highly recommended to us by our hostess, so we stopped in for a pie last night. We ordered the UJ's sunburst (fresh asparagus, yellow and green squash, mixed sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes, fresh mushroom, fresh cilantro) plus chicken. While they forgot or added chicken, we were still pleased with the pizza. The toppings were bright and cusp and fresh and tender. The thin crust, cheese, and sauce were perfect. We in turn suggest anyone reading this run on over and snag your own little slice of delight. PS. Square cut?? YES PLEASE!

They make seriously great pizza, they have cold frosty schooners ready to be filled with your bev of choice. The wait for tables on the weekend (even in the winter) can approach 3 hours, which is hard to believe for our tiny little town. The location is as good as it gets for Saint Joe and they are adding additional seating that is on the roof which is desperately needed. They have roll-up garage doors for windows in the back which is great during the warmer parts of the year. Overall, it's a great place!

  • Maham K.

I've given this place a few tries. For some reason the crust always comes soggy and the sauce is too sweet for my liking. If by get the hype about this place and almost every time we've been there our waitresses have forgotten that we are there. It's seriously average pizza in my opinion.

Wanted to try something different. Got the deep fried pickles, first time ever having them, they were pretty good. Also got the Spinach & Artichoke dip which was good. Not the best. The bread they serve with it is very hard. Ended up going wih the chicken basil pizza. It was alright. The chicken was very dry. The food is mediocre. The bar tender was very quick with our drink orders and our waitress was very attentive. Would probably return for some apps and martinis if in town.

  • Brianna A.

Do not order the mac & cheese pizza but, order literally anything else and it will be very good. The staff is nice and the schooners are nicer. I totally recommend the BBQ Chicken Pizza, or the Carasol Pizza. It's cool how they have that little take out pizza thing. It's also so nice that they have a stopped selling ice cream so places like Kilwins and Cabana's will get more customers. I mean they're really helping each other out. In conclusion this is a pretty good pizza place and everyone loves it. It has a great view of the lake , and fountain, and whenever you walk downtown you get to smell the mouthwatering pizza.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Pizza is amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic it truly feels like you are on vacation! First time I came I thought it would be meh I mean it's inside the Amtrak station! But wow I was so wrong, schooners of beer for $5-$5.50 and huge open windows. I hear they are adding on which is a good thing, the wait can be painful!

Amazing food, great atmosphere and excellent service. The Irish nachos are so good but the BBQ chicken pizza is just beyond words!! So glad we took everyone's advice and ate here...we will be back!!

SBP is always consistently delicious and fresh! It is my favorite pizza place ever! Expect to wait (especially in the summer). Since this place is in the perfect location, right on Lake Michigan, they can be extremely busy on the weekends since it's so awesome and in the hottest spot.

  • David S.

Fantastic gluten free pizza, really some of the best I've tasted. Wait was long but they have a fun app system that allowed us to roam the beach while we waited for a table and got live updates on our smartphone. Cramped inside but that's the atmosphere you'd expect of a train-side restaurant. Food and service was well worth it. Make sure to use the red/green circle to signal your waiter when you need service!

    (5)
  • Mike M.

Absolutely worth the wait! We walked down to the beach and checked out the lighthouse, and conveniently got a text letting us know that our table would be ready in just a few minutes. We stopped in for a schooner and vegetarian pizza. Our server, Jessica, did a fantastic job, she was extremely attentive and took great care of us.

Best atmosphere, food, and service you will get in St. Joe!!! Awesome view of Lake Michigan, as the restaurant is just a block from Silver Beach. Great place to watch the sunset. They are almost done with a new addition. An upstairs bar with incredible views!! Highly recommended!!

Highly recommend the pizza of the month Everything's Just Peachy! Chicken, peaches, Gorgonzola , mozzarella on a olive oiled crust with a splash of balsamic glaze. One of SBP's best!

Their Gluten Free pizza and garlic bread are super terrific!

  • Mahsa T.

Good pizza after a day in the sun, toppings made the pizza a bit soggy, but otherwise good and a nice perforated very thin crust. Expect a long wait to get seated if you want to go in, the take-out window takes about 30 minutes. If you're in the area, this is the best place to eat.

    (3)
  • Amy R.

Hands down, the best gluten free pizza I've ever had! Great staff and it shows that this place has thought about the full experience. Only downside was the wait, but SO worth it!

We were in town visiting and found this gem using Yelp reviews. This place was a winner. We ended up coming here twice in two days because it was so good. The first time we sat at the bar inside not knowing they had an outdoor section. The second night we learned our lesson and had a great time watching a football game at their outdoor bar. We loved their beer selection. I had their black and blue and of the pizza we ordered, their hawaiian was our favorite. The best bite of the pizza is the last bite when you get to the end of the crust and it has hard cheese covering it. It was delicious!

Keep in mind that this is a halfway decent pizza place within easy walking distance of a popular (for southwest Michigan anyway) beach destination. During the summer, they're gonna be swamped. On weekends in summer, they're gonna be up to their eyeballs. So THEREFORE service will be....well, not as punctilious as they'd like. Never mind what the cranky tired hungry customers would like. Have patience. And when they're swamped, you might want to order takeaway pizza. Trust me: if you're at all into pizza, this is worth the wait. And on a sticky hot summer's day, the iced schooners are worth ordering if only to roll the frosted goblet over your sunburnt face. That said, my husband and I tend to simply avoid the place between Memorial Day and Labor Day....because we like to sit quietly and enjoy the pizza. Especially the Garlic Greek; we order it every time....and we've been here often over the years. I cannot say how delighted I am that a restaurant has not only remained for more than a season, but prospered and expanded.

Simply delicious! We went with family (13 of us), and we had a great time! The place is very friendly and I was impressed with the bathroom cleanness. We ordered Irish fries and that was a great hit!!! The pizzas and the calzone had so much flavor! Soooo good!!! And the prices are good too ;) Great place and I'm sure I'll be coming back!

I'll start this review by saying that I love Silver Beach Pizza. You can't get anything like it and it is a well run establishment in this thriving beach community. But my most recent visit prompted me to write this review. The iPad app that the hostesses use is very cool, but terribly inaccurate. This past weekend, I was sitting on the beach and called to put my name on the list. They told me that my table would be ready in 45-60 minutes. We arrived 45 minutes later, then we waited another 15 minutes before going up to the hostess and asking her where our spot in the line was. We ended up waiting for another 45 minutes before we were finally seated. Despite the food and beer being delicious, the inaccuracy of the seating time estimation was rather inconvenient. I want to continue coming to Silver Beach Pizza, and I definitely see myself dining there for many years to come, but it is difficult to plan an evening when the time to get seated is not accurate to what customers are being told.

Pizza is really good, if not a touch too sweet. Problems with estimating the wait for a table. They said more than double what the actual wait was. So we had already ordered carry out. Then the carry out window doesn't have forks even if you order a salad. It's next to a park so one might think people would eat nearby and need a fork. Update: I got a message from the owner and he was very attentive to the issues about wait time and the forks for carry out. Thanks.

Best pizza in the world. Crust, sauce, and toppings are amazing. Just be prepared for a very long wait to be seated.

Came here for a drink after hitting the beach and walking back to our hotel. Great huge frosted glass for our beers! $6.50 per glass. Not bad. Esp right off the beach. Maybe I'm just used to overpriced everything from Chicago. Can't rate their food, as we just stopped for beers. Nice and attentive bartender. Next time we come back to St. Joe, we'll try their pizza!

Got two slices of pepperoni while the kids and wife frolicked (I am not a "beach" person other than "South Beach" but I digress, sand am I glad I did. Wife and kids loved it, so did I, very good crust, right among of cheese and flavorful sauce. It's a bit of a walk from the "beach" but not that much of one. Picnic tables are available from there to there if you care to stop with a full pie and nosh 9and many do); there is also a bar next to the pizza place which I did not check out but could have.

--I love this place!! Lunch, dinner or later its always amazing, usually packed out to the brim especially on the weekends, but if you can go at sunset and sit out in the patio it is worth it, such a great view of the beauty of God's creation --Start off

Great pizza! Loved the irish fries! Called in to be put on waiting list being a busy memorial weekend. They texted me when table was ready. Asked for patio table. Wait time about 45 min, told us about 20 min. Food was delicious, not your typical Chicago pizza. We had the carousel pizza with pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushroom, bell pepper and onion. It's thinner than typical Chicago pizza but good. Late evening with a nice view of the lake and sprinklers. My daughter was with us and she enjoyed the amtrak that stopped in front of us. Gave it 3 stars, service mediocre, felt rushed I guess because was busy.

  • Laurel T.

Let me just say, pizza and I have always had an affinity for one another, but never as strong as Silver Beach Pizza. Now it is a bit pricey and a long waiting time but overly tasty and well worth your dollars. Depending on what you get, the pizza is very fresh and savory tasting that will make you go on a pizza rampage for more as you look at the table next you delicious smelling pie. Overall, bring a bib and prepare to drool.

  • Nico S.

Great thin crust style pizza! If you're looking for flavorful thin crust pizza with simple yet creative twists, then Silver Beach Pizza is for you. The Garlic Greek pizza is my favorite (pepperoni pizza with garlic...simple but fantastic) or my runner-up, David's Pizza (sausage, pepperoni, ham, bacon, garlic, and chicken on a Frank's red hot and BBQ sauce base). People complain about the wait time, and yes it is a real problem here, but I've chosen to ignore that in this review because they are one of the few restaurants in the area where the wait is indicative of the quality of the food. A little hint: you can call ahead to put your name on the wait list. Take the estimated wait time they give you and add 15 minutes. The schooners are great too. It adds a bit of flair to an otherwise standard Southwest Michigan beer menu.

Best. Pizza. Ever. Schooners of beer are chilled and frosty. Beer + Pizza = Love Only downside is this place is packed ALL the time.

  • Laura T.

Five stars foe awesome pizza but minus two for lousy service. I can't say enough good things about the pizza - thin crust (I think they have other options) and great toppings. On the other hand, the service was awful. We waited forever for a table that was supposed to be reserved for our group. The initial waiter looked like we just killed his cat when we told him we have more people coming. When we joked with him that he looks upset, his response was that "you don't even know me". Cups sat empty most of the time. All in all, I would go back because the pizza was that good.

  • Robert L.

I have tried a lot of gluten free pizza in my day and I am sorry to say I didn't love this one. Despite the great buzz about silver beach pizza, their gluten free crust has so much Rosemary (I don't think they make it themselves) you can't taste the sauce or the cheese. Re texture it is nice but not worth the flavor imbalance.

My new favorite! I took the kids and a week later brought husband and kids. I will ALWAYS order too much. I love leftovers from here. The kids were well entertained outside and inside. They love the dough for playing and the Tv's . We got to see a train pull up and watched the fountain while waiting for our pizza. Great prices and service.

The food here is a solid 4 stars but they get that kick over to 5 stars for location, set-up, service, and atmosphere. On the way to Holland we stopped here for sh#ts and had a great time. The pizza comes out and is placed like any pizzeria places it, but they leave you alone after that unless you signal them with these tokens that flip from green to red. Its probably the only good use of "red light - green light" I've ever seen. I can not wait to come back and try it in the warm summer.

Updated to 4 stars since manager immediately contacted me and said he will resolve the issue below. Original review -Caveat the pizza was good. Here is why I only gave it 3 stars. We went to the take-out window and ordered a large and it was supposed to take 20 mins. The lady mentioned to look up at the outside TV to see if our name is displayed to know when our order was ready. Went upstairs to do a little local shopping and came back 20 mins later and still wasn't ready. Waited in front for another 20 mins and still wasn't ready. Our name was not displayed on the TV. Finally waited back in line to check on our order and the lady said it's been ready for a while. I was really annoyed why they didn't see us waiting outside and just let us know our order was ready and why they lady told us to check the TV and yet they don't promptly update the TV. Anyways good pizza for a good price but make sure to ask the counter person if your order is ready versus watching the TV outside!

Silver Beach Pizza offers a nice variety of pizzas and toppings, salads and other menu selections. Our service was a little sketchy on the last visit, with some of our order, like our salads, never arriving until after our pizza was out and we asked about the salads. The waitress apologized, asked us what we had ordered, and then brought the salads shortly before we were done with the main course. On other visits here, the service was fine. The parking is a challenge, like everywhere in St. Joseph, but if you can find a spot and don't have to wait more than a few minutes, this is a great place to eat.

I have to say that I was a little skeptical about Silver Beach Pizza living up to the hype and great reviews, but we had our first visit last Friday night and it certainly won't be our last! We arrived around 7:00 and the place was packed - and it smelled amazing. We were anticipating a wait so it wasn't a big deal. They told us a table for two would be about an hour and 25 minutes. The bar is small, but we were able to find a space to stand and ordered a couple of beers in the icy cold schooners (a little chilly if you don't have a space to set your beer down). About 10-15 minutes into our wait, the bartender told us a couple at the end of the bar was getting ready to leave and we were welcome to grab their seats. We did and decided to just eat at the bar rather than wait for a table. We ordered the garlic cheese bread to start and we were served quickly. The bread itself was nothing special, but the sauce was delicious! Since it was our fiirst visit, we decided to try one of the specialty pizzas. We ordered the Conductor's Choice which came with sausage, artichokes and bell peppers. The pizza arrived with a perfectly crisp crust and a nice balance of cheese and toppings. The only downside was that we didn't have any leftovers to take home with us! Service was great too - the place was packed and the bartender was consistently busy the entire time we were there. However, she was attentive and our beers were never empty. Prices were reasonable. The large (18oz) draft beers were $4-5 dollars and our medium pizza was $15. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and have your name added to the list when you are on your way. We noticed they gave kids a small container of pizza dough to play with while they waited at the tables, which is a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit!

This place was absolutely amazing in every way. Delicious pizza, excellent staff, and a spectacular atmosphere! Right along the beach, it's easy to pass time while you wait to be seated.

  • Mei O.

The pizza is tasty, but the wait for a table can be brutal. If you're coming with a group, call ahead or you might as well go munch on the beach grass outside. Don't bother with the per-slice takeaway at the window. 3 dollars plus for one medium sized slice of New York style pizza is a bit much, imho. For the price of 2 slices I could get a full pizza at some other places (admittedly chain-restaurants). Don't bother with the garlic bread. A thin crust pizza is your best bet.

St. Joseph has a special place in my heart. We have family roots there and frequent it often for family summer trips. We rent a house right on Silver Beach and enjoy the amazing beach, weather, water and sunsets. The best part, the house is within walking distance of Silver Beach Pizza. Half Amtrak station, the other half restaurant/bar. The bar portion outside is my favorite spot to enjoy a margarita or beer. Schooner Me is their tagline and once you've been schooned, you know one is not enough! They have lots of beers on tap but a margarita is a must as you take in the fresh, beach air. Bartenders are friendly and cute;) My mom had a major crush one of them, but that's just between you and me. The pizza is delicious and worth a try. This is just a great place to unwind and feel like you are on a semi-tropical vacation even though you are just in Michigan. Schooner me all night long Silver Beach Pizza!!

  • K C.

Yeah it's really busy, that's because it's really good. Definitely worth the wait. Loved how the cheese is melted of the end of the crust giving it a fried cheese taste. Perfect ratio of ingredients, great sauce, and a crust that stays crispy makes this some of the best pizza I've had.

Yummy pizza and ginormous servings of beer on tap - all in all a refreshing way to spend a beautiful afternoon in downtown St. Joe. While the place had ample seating inside, do what you can to be seated outside for some people watching. Family friendly spot and a good hangout place for friends.

Fried pickles and schooners of margaritas make you almost not care that there even is pizza here, but yes they do have pizza, as claimed by the name and it is pretty good, though I could have used a teeny bit more sauce on there. This place is a lot nicer than I expected from a beachside pizza parlor with a full bar and good selection of beers and cocktails. As I said the pizza itself is pretty good and the fried pickles (frickles) and breadsticks were gobbled up in a jiffy as well. Our server was friendly and not too slow despite being somewhat busy. They have a disc thing like a churrascaria where you can tell them you do or don't want service. Not a bad plan. They are also open, right down by the beach even when it's not peak season.

They earned another star in my book... it's tentative though so keep up the good work. I have been two or three times since my original review. Service has never been anything other than great and on the last two times I had the same cocktail with a special request and while they could still polish it up a bit they have definitely shown that not only do they listen to customers but they also make efforts to improve. So congrats on the other star. Let's shoot for 5 shall we?

The best pizza I've had was the BBQ chicken pizza but I recently branched out for UJ's sunburst and was pleasantly surprised at the intense flavors. I also tried a specialty pizza with butternut squash and kale and wasn't as impressed - there were barely any of either vegetable on the pizza. But overall a wonderful place and I will be back!

Awesome!!! Not much of a pizza eater, but this was amazing. Tried Sweet Harvest which was hesitant because had brown sugar on it. Unbelievable! Not sweet, just perfection. A party in your mouth with every bite. Thanks Brittany, you were also great.

The Sicilian Pizza was a little over cooked. The Calzone was perfectly done. The Antipasto had all the cheese and pepperoni was stacked up like they did not take the time to spread it out over the entire salad. What I thought was wrong is the fact is on the AAA website it says Silver Beach Pizza offers a AAA discount. The waitress, by the way was very good, said they do offer a AAA discount. When she came back she said they only offer a military discount. Which is so awesome every business should. I think they should honor what is advertised in their name until they got it corrected. Also, they are expanding. I am wondering where people are going to park. They don't have enough room the way it is let alone adding more seating. I will never go there in the summer time.

the pizza is good but not $18 dollars for a large single topping good. the girl who answered the phone was very unfriendly and did not know much about the menu. I asked her what italian beef was and she said they only had sausage and beef. clearly they need to train the employees a little better. I'm not saying i wont eat here again but i am definitely not going to stand for a negative employee on the phone who lacks manors. Update - the owner contacted me about my issue. He was very concerned about the employee i talked to and appreciated the feedback. It is nice to know that owners still care about the customer. He showed the importance of keeping in touch. When i eat here again it will be because of the owner and how he keeps in touch with everyone who comes in his restaurant.

My family loves the pizza, I think it leaves much to be desired as the cheese is very light and seems to be cooked in a quickie pizza oven and not a traditional pizza oven. The real review is for the hostesses not having a good handle on wait time. We waited 2.5 hours after being told it was an hour wait.

We can't believe we didn't check in or add a review! We've been here a few times and enjoyed each time. The pizza is thin crust and they offer several delicious toppings and specialty pizzas. It does get crowded so it's helpful to make a reservation. A great place for pizza while you're hanging around the area.

Food as always is great. Be prepared to wait 20-30 mins for your food however but it's worth it. Tv's and speakers are well placed around the inside and outside.

YUM! A friend recommended this place and I'm glad she did! The pizza was not like most, the crust was a bit thicker but could be considered thin. The wait was great as well. My favorite thing about this place is 1. the view of the beach and how it's located along the train tracks and 2. The schooners! I had a $5 Pear Ale Cider and it was amazing. Regular 16 oz were around $3. AMAZING!

As a local I will admit it's good pizza, but it's not mind-blowing like many people claim it is. Usually very busy with long waits due to it's location on the beach and high count of tourists. The BBQ pizza is always good as well as the Irish Nachos, just be prepared for a long wait. If you're a tourist visiting St. Joe drop by and check it out for the full "St. Joseph experience", if you're local order takeout to avoid long waits and the masses.

This pizzeria sits not to far off the beach so I wasn't expecting anything more than a mediocre meal.. How wrong I was! The pizza was a thin crust veggie, perfectly crisp. The sauce was on the sweet side but the jalapeños offset it nicely. Overall, a darn good pie. Service was good. They have a chip on the table that you turn to red when you want service and green when you don't. Pretty neat idea. Prices were great. $40.00 (including tip) for a medium pizza and two drinks. Can't beat that! The wait to be seated was a bit long at an hour but, it being a holiday, it was expected. Overall, a great place!

Silver Beach offers up great pizza and friendly service--and located right on the beach, it's a great place to have a drink after a long day in the sun and sand. I'd say that their pizza is close to the classic Detroit-style deep dish pan pizza, except that the crust is thin. You still get the crispy, buttery edges, but it's not as heavy. We ordered a medium veggie pizza, which was more than enough for two. The toppings were all fresh (no canned mushrooms!), and the sauce was intriguingly sweet. We also really liked the dried herbs sprinkled on top, which worked well with the sweetness of the sauce. To start, we ordered the fried pickle spears--good, but would skip next time to just focus on the pizza! As others have noted, the beer is served in large, frozen schooner glasses. You'll probably have to wait for a table on a busy night during the summer, but you can head right to the bar and grab one of these beers to make the wait more enjoyable!

Where was this place 20 years ago?! I grew up in this area and this would've been a frequent stop. Pizza was great, thin but not flakey crust, sweet sauce although not too much and great cheese. Many specialty pizzas to choose from or a great topping list. Our table shared a sausage & onion pizza and a sausage & bacon calzone. The bacon was great. Beer...they have a good local craft selection and a number of other quality taps as well. Great black n'tans. If you're thirsty they offer a schooner mug for you're enjoyment. It's about a 20oz, extremely thick glassed, nicely frosted mug-o-ale. Good stuff!!

Excellent food and excellent service! My family had dinner with my cousins (age 2 and 6) and Silver Beach Pizza was a great choice! We had the Sicilian Pizza, the Margherita Pizza, and just plain cheese and they were to die for. The restaurant fills up quickly, but if you're willing to come for an early dinner or wait for a while, it is definitely worth it! Great experience.

The pizza is as close to Chicago style thin crust as it gets in Michigan. A great place for kids they give the little ones pizza dough to play with and it works kept our two grandchildren busy while we waited for the pizza. A great place to take family or kids to. Pizza was hot and delicious, service excellent with their turn the disk if you need anything what a great idea and way to get great service when you want it.

Really liked the pizza. First time there. Tourist. Pizza was nice break from was coast pizza that I am used to. The BBQ pizza was great as well as the garlic pizza. Wait staff was fun and sweet. Fun vibe to the place. Great spot for families and beer available for mom and dad. Great view of Lake Michigan. Good diet coke and salad too. Liked the Greek dressing.

We ordered the Greek Garlic Pizza (pepperoni, Garlic and crushed red pepper) it was yummy!! Definitely has a kick to it, so if you do not like things a little spicy I would order something else. The pizza crust was a little burnt, but it still had great flavor. Large drink selection also. The strawberry/lemonade vodka drink was good and so was a pineapple vodka martini. They have these schooners also for beer, just wish they had some of their mixed drinks available in this size. Also, the restaurant itself was cool, right by the train station and by the water. In the summertime I am sure it is even better! Will definitely go back when in the area.

Ok for local pizza, but I was pretty disappointed after reading all the stellar reviews and expecting something special (and going out of my way to reach this hard-to-find place). I had a 10" with sausage, mushrooms, and extra cheese. My overwhelming impression was: "bland." I was also very disappointed that the "thin crust" was soggy, not crisp. It seemed a little underdone. I thought another minute or two in the oven might have crisped up the crust and imparted a bit more flavor by browning the cheese. The pizza reminded me somewhat of Cascarelli's in Albion. Not even in the same league as Marro's in Saugatuck, which is my gold standard. And despite the dubious claims in some of the reviews below, no one from Chicago who has any sort of decent taste and experience with pizza could think this place competes. This is acceptable, white-bread, small-town Michigan pizza with a sweet sauce, doughy crust, and bland cheese, but it's not Chicago pizza. It's certainly better than chain pizza, and I'm sure they take pride in what they make. It seems like a pleasant, honest, popular little place. I just can't get excited about the pizza. Redeeming features: fast, friendly service; long beer list; tons of anchovies for my caesar salad at no extra charge; and a fun, unique atmosphere in an old train station. Although the town looked dead, the place was lively with locals on a late winter Thursday night.

First time checking this place out.. What a great spot this is. The food is amazing.. best pizza i have had in quite some time. We got a simple garlic, pep cheese pizza and it was amazing. Perfect crust and just great all around... We tried the gluten free crust and it was honestly fantastic to my surprise. Decent beer selection however I decided to have a giant bloody mary and it was fantastic. They even have jalapeno fused vodka.. NICE!

Excellent, one of a kind pizza. Try the garlic Greek; has a little more spice. We always order our pizza well-done so it's crispy. Salads are enough to share. Atmosphere is enjoyable. Love the mojitos.

We just were on a trip to St Joe's and were treated to Silver Beach Pizza. It was fantastic! We are from San Diego and you really can't get a GREAT pizza here but this pizza was A-mazing, along with the frosty beer!!! Service and location was great as well! It beat the deep dish we had in Chicago!!!! A must if your in the mood for a great pizza, only wish I knew about the Irish nachos!

Just moved to St. Joe from the east side of the state. Looked for a great pizza place to match that from what I used to eat back in Frankenmuth #tiffanys So we heard the buzz about Silver Beach Pizza and decided to check it out. I think we found a great pizza replacement while we live here for the next 3 months! The pizza is thin, and comes with excellent toppings, sauces, and herbs. Some that caught our eye (and tongue) were the greek #olives/feta, sicilian #basil/italiansausage and the popular chicken bbq #selfexplanatory. Luckily it has warmed up in town and was 85 degrees when we went a couple of days ago. So the back patio was open and the sliding garage doors were open. We were able to eat and watch the sun dip into the lake. Quite a great experience! Only reason SBP is losing a star is that the service was so-so. We will see about it next time.

After hearing all the "this is the best pizza in St. Joe's" recommendations and smelling it when I got off the train, Silver Beach seemed like a no-brainer when I needed dinner. I called ahead for a carryout order with no problems. When I arrived for pick up, the hostess was a straight up b-i-t-c-h. Just a crappy attitude, and when I asked for napkins she got huffy. Napkins. Really? Clearly someone was having a bad day and decided to take it out on me. Lucky me! The place seemed to be super busy, which I assumed would equal good pizza. It was just okay. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't mind blowing. I think a lot of the draw here is location because it is perfection, but maybe I just caught them on an off night.

We were in St Joe for our anniversary last weekend and had dinner at Silver Beach Pizza on Friday night. The wait was long (35 min.) but it was worth it! The service was impeccable and the pizza to-die-for. We're from the Chicago area so we really know our pizza...and certainly didn't expect to get such awesome pizza in the St Joseph area. We were blown away!

Great small town Pizza joint that is working hard to deliver a quality product. From a price standpoint...they are quite pricey (Chicago Prices...in my opinino), but the ROI is worth it in my opinon if you are looking for flavor. Service has always been good, and their expansion of a take out kitchen was a great ideal. Best wishes to the owners on their continued success

We expected some awesome pizza at this place given the reviews and all and given the long wait. The location is definitely excellent, just off Silver Beach and a charming little combination train station / restaurant. The cheesy bread appetizer was a great start and may have built up the expectations too high. When the pizza came out, it looked amazing and by then we were all starving. I think the flavors were great and the edges were nice a crispy, but the rest of the pizza was just so soggy... that ruined it for me. Updated 10/23: Soon after writing the review, I was contacted by their management. They investigated a bit and apologized. To top it off they mailed me a gift card for a free pizza on my next visit. Well... I'm from Chicago so not sure when I'll be there next... but still it's a great gesture. Enough for me to bump it up by 1 more star. Great job on the follow-up Silver Beach!

I would have to say that this is the best pizza place in town. They managed to get six medium pizza orders complete within 30 minutes, along with a dozen other orders. I recommend the take-out area for visitors as we weren't able to view the actual restaurant.

It has been a while since I sat out on the patio and this place has really upped their game. The atmosphere is awesome and they are extremely well staffed. Silver beach pizza is A MUST. They have these dots so when your ready to order you can just flip it to the green side and if you want them to leave you alone just flip it to the red side or vice versa. They also have a special pizza you can get if your lactose and tolerant to cheese ( I forgot what it is called) their waiting staff is really friendly and when you don't have to ask all you have to do is flip the dot and they'll ask you but Sometimes their really busy and you have to remind them but when they see the dot their pretty good at getting the thing that you need except when it's jammed packed, sometimes but rarely you have to remind them.

This one is a tough call for me, but I'm going to have to chalk this place's five-star rating to gestalt. Taken individually, each offering here does not wow me into the stratospheric requirement for five stars. HOWEVER, everything comes together in a delightful way. The first time I had The Carousel, their version of a supreme pizza, I was surprised by just how good it was. The variety of flavors that poured forth was surprising, and no one topping overshadowed the rest. It was not a sausage pizza with extra toppings but, truly, every bite a different flavor. The crust, as well, holds a secret. They bake cheese into their dough, so the crust never gets hard or tough, and it crisps around the edges, so that what you experience in the middle is slightly different than what you find at the circumference. What's strange is that I have not been wowed by their pizza ever since, and I cannot blame any particular factor. They make VERY good pizzas, but the experience of being amazed is not there the second or third or fourth time. In addition to The Carousel, I've had the Palladium which is a four-cheese. It's a very solid pizza featuring good flavor throughout and that delicious, cheesy dough. Another menu item which always pleases my palate is the Irish Nachos. Simply put, they're loaded french fries. They're loaded with cheese, scallions, and bacon and come with ranch dressing for dipping. Of course, you could just pour the dressing over the fries. That would be the smartest method. I very much recommend that you don't pass up on the Irish Nachos. Even though it seems as if this would be a heavy dish, it's not. None of the flavors overpower another, and it's just large enough to kick up the appetite of even just two people. If you're going to get a beer, get it in a schooner glass. Don't ask questions. Just get it in a schooner. The last note is a bit cheery but also slightly dour. Silver Beach Pizza is in a wonderful spot. It's just down the hill from the downtown area of St. Joseph, so you're never far from either the downtown tourist attractions or the beach. It's built into an old train stations and sits right alongside the train tracks. The setting and ambiance are perfect for a midday or evening meal with the sun going down into the lake. I can't think of a better spot in the whole town for a pizza restaurant as it's close enough to everything but not choked by other buildings or disturbed by the bustle of traffic. The sad part is that it's really a diamond in the rough. This place is so good that all of the surrounding attractions and eateries seem dull or bad by comparison. I would go so far as to say that, when in St. Joseph, you MUST eat at Silver Beach Pizza mostly because it's so good, but, in the back of my mind, I can't think of anything local I'd want to try.

This place lived up to the reviews! Great beer selection with something for everyone and the pizza was awesome (had the Silician...green olives + salami, yeah buddy). But don't waste your time with the breadsticks, just wait for the real deal. And I love the green/red "pucks" they give you at the table to tell the server you need something (red) or you're all good (green). Oh, and the pricing is great! You can pay twice as much in Chicago for half the quality.

Silver Beach Pizza, along with Kilwins and Tosi's, is a staple for me when I return to the small town in which I spent the majority of my late childhood years. Right next to the Amtrak Station and below the pier, a few minutes walk from the beach, this place is perfect for a late lunch or a chill dinner after a day on the sand. With a large outdoor seating to make up for the grisly interior, Silver Beach Pizza has beautiful views of the waterfront, especially if you are lucky enough to get a table around sunset in the summer. Though the crust is slightly thicker than the average New York style pizza, the pie is nevertheless cooked to perfection. Slightly crispy with a sweet tomato sauce, the pizza is served whole with square slices, though recently they opened a take-out window in which you can buy traditional pieces by the slice. Over the years, I have tried numerous toppings: veggie, conductor's choice, plain, open faced calzones, margherita. Each pizza has a good balance between cheese, sauce, and toppings, with neither of the flavors trying to dominate--like an orchestra with the violins (the sauce) playing the major melody which later shifts to the other sections. Be aware, though: once I ordered the margherita pizza, unaware that it was an olive-oil based crust. Though rich and flavorful and absolutely soaked in olive oil and crisped to perfection, it's also quite filling and unhealthy, so be prepared to pack on some heavy calories. Silver Beach Pizza boasts some of the best fries I have ever had (thin-style) lathered with cheese, bacon, and green onions--that is, the Irish nachos. The artichoke dip is amazing, and so are the fried pickles (definitely tastes better than they look) and brushetta. The only downside is that they don't have a dessert menu, which may actually be looked upon as an advantage: go to Kilwins instead. See my review there for why it is a must-go for St. Joseph.

Like all Americans we have eaten a disturbing amount of pizza in our lives. The sheer variety is overwhelming. However, there are a few pizza places that deserve to be remembered. Silver Beach Pizza is excellent. I have only once received a sub par pizza. Their crust is not only perfectly crunchy and yet slightly chewy, it also has a terrific flavor. The sauce on the pizza is robust and fresh. I am not sure how they prepare it. However, it is certainly made in house and they use fresh spices. The toppings are of a high quality. The most impressive thing is that their pizza is well balanced. The crust, sauce, and toppings coincide nicely. I have had plenty of pizza that has had a great crust and bad sauce or great sauce and bad toppings or any other number of combinations. They have an excellent carry-out window. This is very important because they can get amazingly busy. If you go there in the summer you'd swear you were parking at a state fair. Carry-out is strongly recommended. The pricing is just what you would expect from a real pizza parlor. The employees are well trained and seem to like their jobs. If you're in this area of Michigan this is the place to eat. The food in the surrounding locales are simply terrible.

My fellow foodies, yelpers, and culinary experts. This place cooks artisan style pizza. I'd say it's Michigan's best kept secret. I'm originally from Chicago, so I truly know good pizza. As a current resident of Michigan, I've tried many pizzas around the Great Lakes. Some are good, and others are in a league of their own. Personally, this is one of the best pizzas in the Midwest, and easily ranks #1 in my book. The menu has many tempting options. I really enjoy the Carousel Pizza full of fresh and delicious toppings. The sauce is balanced and full of flavor. The thin crust is cooked just right. The Whirlpool Wonder Pizza has tons of toppings. The Conductors Choice is one of my favorites with artichokes, bell pepper, and sausage. Also, each month they feature an all new pizza recipe chosen from a list of customer suggestions. Last time, I had a gyro pizza, which was a unique take on a classic. This unique restaurant is located at an upgraded train station depot, conveniently located in sight of beautiful Silver Beach and Lake Michigan. The place has friendly employees who are helpful and attentive to orders, etc. During the week of my companies global meeting, I took my colleagues who were visiting from Guangzhou, China to this place for lunch. They absolutely loved the pizza, and I'm glad their flight across the world to eat here was worth it. Lucky me, I don't need to fly across the world to enjoy a great pizza. If you have discriminating tastebuds, love a flavorful pizza, a variety of drinks..then this is the place to visit. Siiver Beach Pizza gets 5 stars, all the way.

I am not a five star reviewer. Let me just start there. But in the town of St. Joe...this is about as good as it gets. The pizza is DELICIOUS and the drink menu is great. The wait staff is friendly and helpful, the bartenders are quick and the food is always delicious. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. Favorites are the Conductor's Choice and the Garlic Greek. A don't-miss spot if you're headed to St. Joe.

I have been here a few times on vacation and is always a good spot for pizza by the beach. Nice seating areas and some really good patio/outdoor seats that give you a view of the lake and a water play park, Just as you walk up to this place you can smell melted mozzarella, garlic, and sausage in the air the sign that you will be getting a delicious pizza. When you get a table. It can get a little crazy but is well worth the wait. Get a beer while you do (it comes in a schooner and that my friend's is a beer lovers best friend). Now of course pizza is the big attraction. I have had the Conductor's Choice, which I was a little weary because of the pairing of sausage and artichoke hearts. But works, works real well. The Undertow and The Palladium are must tries too. The pizza is cooked to perfection. They get the cheese that right mix of white and orange. A sweeter tomato sauce and a fantastic crust. It really is unique pizza, I haven't tasted any other pizza like it and because they can do that I owe them my allegiance when I am in St. Joe's.

Really great pizza, period. Waited a long time to get in. They should open an outside bar so you can have a drink while waiting. Pizza was worth the wait! Many different choices of pizza on the menu, and the wait staff was great. We will return.

We are long time residents of St. Joseph and SBP is one of our favorite places to eat when we just want good food and good beer. If you have never been here before, you are going to have a long wait anytime during the summer. The food is worth the wait. The pizza and Irish Nachos are our favorite. Of course the really cold schooners of beer make everything better. The service is most always better than average. Just remember, it's ok to wait. Order a beer, relax and you will have a great time.

  • James B.

Silver Beach Pizza is one of my all-time favorite pizza places. I usually get the garlic pizza with crushed red peppers. In the summer, try to get seated on the bar side so you can hear the water from the lake when they have the overhead doors open.

Ok along with some other people here (the reason I chose this in the first place) I am not particularly fond of pizza. This pizza is an exception!! I loved the texture of the crust, the quality of the meat impecable, and the cheese so fresh!!! I can't wait to go back in the summer!! I loved the idea of a double sided piece of plastic with a green side, and a red side. If you need your waiter/ress turn it to red. The one time we flipped it our waiter was right there!! The only complaint I have is our waiter must of been preoccupied because he didn't seem very personable:(

Great location in an old train station that still serves as an Amtrak stop, right at Silver Beach. They closed in the outdoor patio, that used to be tarped or something, with huge rollup garage doors, so when it's nice you're basically sitting outside enjoying the lakefront, water fountain and beach views. They've got the system down and the kitchen and the young, friendly staff seem to have no problem serving lots of people efficiently. Pretty good thin crust pizza, with real crumble Italian sausage, not the Alpo chunks that passes for sausage on most pies these days. Slightly sweet sauce that I'm not usually a fan of, but it works here. Crust is nice&firm and toppings balanced pretty well for this type of Midwestern thin crust. Huge frosty glass schooners for $5/18oz beers. Good selection of drafts, some micros, for the schooner pours. What else to say? Family-friendly, young adult-friendly, good food and an awesome Lake Michigan setting. It's hard to think of a better way to spend a lazy, hungry summer afternoon with friends and family. Having the huge, fun water park/fountain and carousel right there is excellent for kids! One of the great additions to St Joe in the last few years.

Stopped in for lunch today and remembered why we had such a great time two years ago! Service was very, very good. My wife and I shared a small pizza (perfect size for two) split, 1/2 Meat Mania, 1/2 the works. She was just barely impressed, my pizza was awesome. Kids wolfed down a pepperoni. Great beach-side eatery!!!

My in-laws have had a house in Coloma, MI about 15 minutes from St. Joe's for 7 years. And we have been trying to find good pizza out there for all seven of them :) For some reason, we never tried Silver Beach. Until this year. Memorial Day weekend, my father-in-law suggested that we all go out to eat. With 5 kids aged 7 months to 6 years. Silver Beach was great with getting us set up - they didn't take reservations, but did say we could call on the way and let them know we were coming since we had a fairly large party of 11. (As a side note, I did see a sign that said they would accomadate parties up to 14 or 15 - I can't remember, but if you have a big party, make sure to check first!) The hostess gave the kids little containers of pizza dough to play with while we waited for our food. All of them were entertained - it was a nice break from the usual crayons and placemat that most restaurants hand out. We got the Irish Nachos as an appetizer, which are cheese fries with bacon and scallions served with ranch dressing. They were pretty good, but a bit spicy for the kids. For dinner, we ordered a Carousel (pepperoni, ham, sauage, green pepper, and mushroom), the Garlic Greek (pepperoni, garlic, and crushed red pepper), and the Palladium (4 cheese). They were all really good - the Carousel was my favorite - and we had a lot of left overs that went pretty quickly the next day. For those of you from Illinois or Indiana, the sauce reminded me of Aurelio's - a bit sweet - especially on the 4 cheese pizza. The toppings on the others definitely cut the sweetness of the sauce. The schooners of beer are great - of course :) - and you can't beat the location. We finished eating and took the kids right out to the splash pad and carousel for a little after dinner treat. Really good service, really good food, and really good atmosphere.

Top three pizzas I have ever had! And yes I am from Chicago. They know how to do it here.

If you're looking for a rustic Italian restaurant with a fantastic bar come here! The pizza is something out of heaven! I can't even explain it! Just buy as many pizzas as you can and bring them home, you will be amazed! Great staff, clean place, and many different Italian options on the menu if desired. Just please, get the pizza.

We went here based on a friends recommendation and were soooooooooo glad we did!! It was one of our favorite stops during our West Michigan vacation. First of all, everyone wants to eat here and being right by the beach there is a really long wait. Be prepared to wait because it'll be worth it! They provided us with one of those buzzer things and have tons of seating outside. The building is an old train station. I just love when old buildings are re-purposed. Once we got to our table and met our awesome server, he explained the system they have.. They have this little disc placed at the end of the table with one side red, one side green - if you need something, simply flip it over to the green side. It's really simple, but so smart. I loved this idea. I hate when servers hound you or you can't get their attention. We didn't know where our server was, but a couple seconds after we'd flipped that disc to the green side, he was there in a jiffy!! I wish more places implemented this system. Leave me alone, I'll let you know when I need you!!!!! So... the food.. We ordered two different pizzas (fussy teen in tow).. They have just about any kind of topping imaginable. My pizza of choice was the goat cheese, mushroom, and onion. Hello taste buds!!! It was delish!! The drinks were a bit pricey, but tasty as well. I had two margaritas which we near perfection.. Should you require a souvenir, on the way to the parking lot is a tiny little tshirt shop.well, it's actually a counter with a girl selling tshirts.. lol...I just wish this pizza joint was closer to my house so I could visit more often!!

I give this place 5 stars with some slight reservation. The pizza was great and it isn't far from the beach. The reason why I have some reservation is that it is very busy and because of that, the service was a bit sub part. So, if you are in the mood for a relaxing place to get some great food, this is your place.

I love, love, love Silver Beach Pizza! After going here the first time, I don't want to get pizza anywhere else. The pesto chicken is my favorite, but I have yet to try something I don't like. The service has always been great. I love the red/green button to let the staff know when you need something. I think this helps the service toe the line between attentive and intrusive. And you definitely can't beat the views of the beach!

Five Stars for the location, the Schooners, the space, the patio, the service. One 1/2 Star for the food. We were visiting St. Joe's on the way home from our trip to northern Michigan. The city is beautiful and the location of this pizza joint is A1! We ordered Buffalo Wings and a Pizza. The pizza sauce is really sweet - so I didn't care for it. If you're into sweet pizza sauce then maybe you will be a fan. The crust was great. The wings were small and rather fatty. Certainly a place to go and grab a drink. The outside patio boasts wonderful views. From the reviews, there are obviously numerous people that enjoy sweet pizza sauce. Just be forewarned.

One of my favorite places in St. Joseph area. The pizza is top notch. Chicago is famous for their pizza, and I think SBP blows them away. Great location, and great views from the patio.

Good pizza and view but not family friendly. Party of 11 plus infant twins. We're told we were not allowed to bring our stroller into the patio. Had to go back to car and get car seats. As we were seated there were no less than 3 strollers already in the patio

Omg great. Best pizza in Michigan for sure. OK, western Michigan. But still an awesome spot on the water, and only a short drive off of I-94. Stop on your way through!

Great atmosphere and location. Be sure to eat outside on the patio where you can see lake Michigan. Had the hummus trio and a pepperoni pizza. Both were very good.

The best restaurant in all of St. Joseph, hands down. Consistently a good meal, good service, beautiful location. Try the Garlic Greek. Beats any other pizza I have EVER had.

I grew up in Benton Harbor and witnessed several restaurants (Zita's etc.) fail at 'the train station'... such a shame for such a great location. Thank god someone FINALLY got it right! Hat's off to Silver Beach Pizza for delivering a great pizza and wonderful atmosphere!

The crust alone is worth giving this place a try. The crust is thin and crisp. The specialty pizzas offer a good variety. The carousel, while at first glance doesn't sound like something I would like, was actually my favorite. It includes a combination of pepperoni, sausage, ham, bell pepper and mushroom. The flaming chicken with blue cheese, chicken, and buffalo wing sauce is a great combo, though very spicy. The Irish nacho appetizer is worth a try too, great flavors. Perfect with the icy cold schooner of beer. Love the icy cold glass! If you head in for brunch be sure to try the bloody Mary, it is a meal in itself. It does get crowded so often in the height of the crowds it is best to order ahead and get it from the pick up window.

  • Jared W.

I'm not a huge fan of thin crust pizza, but this one is pretty decent. I didn't realize there were more roads over the bluff (it was dark and I don't live around here) and had difficulty finding the place -- glad I finally did. While I took it to go, the building is kitschy and fun... looks like a great place to take the family.

My husband, son and I were in Michigan this past weekend and decided to go into Saint Joseph for dinner. I read some other yelp reviews and decided on Silver Beach Pizza, being the huge pizza fanatic that I am. Much to my disappointment, there was about an hour wait. (We went at 7pm on a Saturday night, so were there during prime dinner hours.) They gave us a buzzer and we headed across the street to the Merry Go Round. (Great distraction for my 1 and a half year old as we waited.) After riding the Merry Go Round, we headed back and much to our delight, were seated. Once we were seated we were promptly served. They have a system where they give you a big chip for your table that has a red side and a green side. When you need service, you leave the green side up. This made service very quick and was nice because the waitress was not bugging you when you didn't need help. Since I had read some Yelp reviews earlier,we decided to try the popular choice and have the Garlic Greek Pizza. It was delicious but next time I would ask them to go a little lighter on the Garlic. We also ordered some mozzarella sticks and a few schooners of beer. The beers were HUGE ( I think 32 oz) and only $5. I thought overall, the restaurant was a great value since it is clearly a popular place and they could have charged any price for the pizza and beer that they wanted and people still would have paid. Additionally, Silver Beach was very child friendly. They have these highchairs that are really tall so a baby could belly up to the bar, too! Pretty funny. They also had dum dum suckers for the kids which kept my sucker- loving baby totally happy, making for a totally happy Mom. We will be back- again and again!

Good pizza, great service, and the perfect summer escape from the heat with a chilled schooner of cold beer! Also the Irish nachos are to die for. Literally you'l most likely suffer a MI after their consumption, but it will be worth it.

OK, if you want pizza and you are in Saint Joseph, MI there is no other place to go but Silver Beach Pizza. Heck, if you are within 50 miles of St. Joe, go to Silver Beach Pizza. Not sure how they do it but it is one of the best I have ever tasted. This place is so popular that when people come into town the first thing they want to do is go here. Beyond just the food, atmosphere and great service, I will say the ambiance is fantastic. If you are a "local" you are bound to see many people you know and the ability to stroll along the beach afterward is fantastic. In the summer it gets very crowded so be prepared to wait but it is well worth it. I went there Thursday night with a business coworker and we enjoyed the evening. Great place.. real attentive, I would love to go all the time!

This place has some of the best pizzas I've ever had. Do expect long wait times during dinner times on weekends (almost close to an hour), the service is pretty good at dine-in, good drink choices. But I cannot say the same thing about their take-out. Once ordered their pizza and garlic bread for take-out and when I went to pick them up, they couldn't find the bread for ten minutes. Then one of the guys from the kitchen came and took it out from the fridge and gave it to the girl at the takeout counter who just handed it to me - a COLD garlic bread ! And I was really annoyed at this point and asked them if their garlic bread are always this cold - and she just said that she'll heat it up, without as much as an hint of apology. I would still go ahead with 4 stars because of their pizzas, but I believe I saw a few other reviews annoyed with their take-out, so that is worth taking a star out. Update : The owner, Jay, messaged me the next day regarding my experience and stated they will work hard to improve the service in future. Consider me an impressed customer !

My husband and I visited the St. Joe area several times before going to SBP. This place is the spot. They have delicious pizza, great bar food, cold beer, strong cocktails...FRIED PICKLES! The service is great...lots of young, happy folks pushing good food and eats. Most recent visit we discovered that the bar has a good number of infused vodka...from strawberry to beef jerky. ha! It's where everyone seems to go on weekend evenings. It's great for large groups and sunsets. Lastly but not leastly, the prices are perfect for indulging. Coming from Chicago, it feels close to free. We'll be back!

The pizza was delicious- we had the BBQ chicken with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce, pineapple, and red onion. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Plenty of options on tap that you can order in an ice cold schooner. Located in the old train station, it sits just a block off the lake for a perfect view. Check this place out!

This place is awesome, located in the Amtrack Train Station, overlooking Lake Michigan. The pizza is like none other....really fabulous! The crust is to die for, but instead you should breathe....just enjoy the food, drinks, scenery and all that this darling and quaint beach town has to offer!

*4.5 stars* Silver Beach Pizza is tasty, the service is good, they've got outdoor seating (although you'll definitely have to wait for it on nice summer evenings) and it's not pricey. Be forewarned, however, if you don't like kids - stay away. I was here on a summer weeknight, and the place was overflowing with lots of kiddos fresh off the beach. A solidly good restaurant in a town not exactly known for great dining.

Silver Beach Pizza in located inside what used to be the train station which is what originally got be excited about coming here while visiting the DB's family in Michigan. It's right along Lake Michigan which is also very neat. The pizza here was delicious! I've never been a huge fan of pizza crusts so this place turned out to be perfect. There isn't much of a crust at all because the toppings and sauce go almost all the way to the edges of the pizza. We came in a large group and surprisingly were able to be seated immediately because everyone was taking advantage of the nice weather outside on the patio. I'm not a huge fan of super-hovery servers/waiters so I was nicely surprised to find that they have these red/green discs that you use if you need to get your server's attention. We ordered bread sticks which came with cheese sauce that reminds me of nacho sauce (in a good way). The bread sticks were soft, warm, and cooked to perfection. The cheese sauce was pretty tasty and I kept the little cup of extra cheese with the intention of dipping my pizza crusts in it (this was before I actually saw the pizzas and their nonexistent crusts). The pizzas were all delicious and not greasy at all. We had a fairly large group so we ordered three large pizzas: - The Carousel (pepperoni, sausage, ham, bell peppers, and mushrooms) was yummy. It definitely satisfied my more meaty cravings. The sauce is sweet without being too in your face. - The Hawaiian (Canadian bacon, pineapple, onions) is your standard Hawaiian pizza. The Canadian bacon is cut a good size so you're not accidentally pulling of huge pieces of "ham". - BBQ Chicken Pizza (BBQ sauce, chicken, pineapple, and red onions) was my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of onions so I picked them off and this pizza was delicious! The best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had anywhere. You can order schooners of ice cold beer here which look pretty nifty. They look like giant goblets. Personally, I think it's the perfect about of beer for some pizza. My only complaint is that the pizza slices weren't cut very well which was inconvenient because instead of being able to just serve a slice and enjoy their meal, people sitting near the pizzas kept having to re-cut the square pieces of pizza with the serving spatula.

The pizza was awesome! My wife and I were in SW Michigan for one night and had dinner here after reading a few online reviews about Silver Beach Pizza. We live in Chicago, and lived in NYC for a while, and this was, by far, the BEST pizza we've ever had. The crust was amazing. The service was excellent as well. They have a red-green coaster that customers flip when they need something. Whenever the coaster was green, and even when it wasn't, we had great service. We did have to wait a little but it was well worth it and they have great drinks and cheap beer. My only suggestion is that should serve more local beer. We will return!

I would eat this pizza every single day if I could! The service is great, the food is awesome. Irish nachos, so good! Schooners of ice cold beer, what more can you ask for.

This place is probably the best pizza in town. Ice cold beer, great staff, super salads, and AWESOME pizza. I especially love theor thin crust... But get the XL pizza, cuz you won't want to stop eating it! For those looking for salads, they have one of the most delicious and unique salads called the Cheryl's Salad. Unusual ingredients that really work well together.

I will never get sick of this place...love the staff, the food is always predictable awesome and the bar is great! Totally kid-friendly and ambiance is so comfortable. if you're lucky enough to be dining when the train is due to arrive, take the kids outside and put a penny on the track...a St. Joe tradition! The Irish Nachos are the bomb-diggidy...do people still say that?

Great location. The feel of the place is wonderful. We arrived just before sunset and the place was packed. No wonder since the place offers great appetizers and pizza. We ordered the fried pickles and the hummus. Both were hits at the table especially the jalapeño flavored hummus (nice kick). My friends ordered the pizza so I didn't know which ones they selected. In any case, they were very tasty. In my opinion, it was the crust that gave it it's distinct taste. I am not of fan of pizza cut into small "squares" but that didn't ruin the flavor provided by the freshly made pizza. A Chicago resident now, I plan to bring my family to St. Joseph for the beach and the food at the Silver Beach Pizza.

I have eaten pizza allover this country and a few over sea's and I can say their Pizza is the best .the sauce is sweet and they have a great thinner crust.fresh ingredeints . Plus Ice cold scooners of Obreon Beer and a big flat screen TV. WHat more could a man want. plus a fantastic veiw of the lake.I will stop in every time I cruise down I94 going and coming from chicago

  • Jason R.

Take away the fact that this is by the beach, this is some of the best pizza I have ever had. Don't tell my Chicago friends that I eat this thinner crust stuff. The only complaint, at no fault of Silver Beach Pizza, is that it can get a bit crowded. The selection of pizzas are fantastic. I really wish hadn't already named my son, because I would have named him Dave, because David's Pizza is out of this world. My son is no where as special as David's Pizza, but it would have given him much to aspire to. They have some very good craft beers on tap. The wait staff is very friendly and hard working, as busy as this place gets. It is always worth the wait. The location is great for a summer day at the beach or nearby carousel, followed by some seriously good 'za, over a few beers, wondering who this David guy is, and if I should get another dog just to name him Dave and feed him only pizza.

Amazing....the owner was there. Showed his ownership by meeting our needs outside of the traditional posted hours. After traveling 20 hours from Austin TX for the holiday and having this pizza for our 1st meal in MI. AMAZING! Not a reviewer of much, though I have an opinion of much. This is incredible pizza with an even better story. Bravo!!

  • William N.

This place rocks. After years of other places struggling to keep a viable business going, SB Pizza figured out what it takes to keep the place packed: good food/service at decent prices. I like that it's in the old Amtrak station. Can't wait until I can sit outside, get a pizza and swill a few beers in the St. Joe restaurant closest to the beach. A piece of advice for those wanting to get a table on a weekend night in the Summer. If you're here by 4:45pm, you should be able to sit immediately. Around 5pm to 5:30pm, there's an inflection point to where the wait immediately becomes 1 hour. Plan accordingly.

What could be better than an ice-cold schooner of beer and delicious pizza? I've been to Silver Beach a few different times and have yet to be disappointed. Our favorite pizza is the Flaming Chicken - Frank's Red Hot sauce with chicken and bleu cheese. The fried pickles are a great appetizer as well. They have a variety of local beer and wine as well as some great standards like Stella Artois.

Yummm!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Silver Beach Pizza! We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for 2 on a Wednesday evening, but I was happy to find out that they allow you to leave the premises and walk the beach while you wait. We returned and were seated outside, which we requested so we could watch the sunset. It was a fun surprise when the train came by! We ordered drinks (they're known for their Schooners, but their mojitos are very good too) and an appetizer (breadsticks .. simple but yummy), followed by two small pizzas. We ordered Dave's pizza and Hawaiian, both of which were delicious! We were also pleasantly surprised when we couldn't decide what beers to try, and the waiter came back with a few samples for us to try before we ordered! I also really love their red/green circle system (put the red out when you want your server to stop, put the green out when you want to be left alone). Great place for an easy, relaxing evening!

  • Gwin C.

Good location and decent pizza. Again its not Chicago great- but its a fun(and loud) place to go. Be warned on Friday or Saturday nights during tourist season- its packed and service suffers due to the crowd. I liked my italian beef sandwich and antipasta appetizer.

    (4)
  • Bernard W.

This place is kinda badass. Not so much for the pizza, which was solid, but for the fact that you can literally roll up on the train from Chicago, step off, walk 5 feet, sit down at the bar and order a Bells and a pizza. Seriously, how good is that.

    (5)
  • Robert J.

Yes this is the best pizza in the area. A bit more expensive than "the hut' or "jetz" but the proof is in the pie. You still get what you pay for. A couple of my favorites are the Carousel and the BBQ Chicken. They hire great people that seem to enjoy working there. Once we tried to order take out in the winter and they were closed for an employee party. I think that's great. Also note that this is operated by the Gelsosomo family that has other locations in Porter, IN and Michigan City if you need to get the same quality further on you're way to or from Chicago.

    (4)
  • Blair J.

As far as the ubiquitous Twin Cities go, this is the best pizza anywhere near the St. Joe/Benton Harbor area. The ambience is particularly exciting in the summertime when families and bar-goers jostle for space and hot meals only a few hundred yards from Lake Michigan beaches. Finally, a great pizzeria in location that struggled for YEARS to stay open in the winter season. Not a problem with this happening place! Lots of neat history on the walls, too, if that is your forte.

    (5)
  • Nini W.

This is one of my favorite places to dine in the St. Joe/Benton Harbor area. It also makes a great place to have a first date because of the laid back atmosphere. The pizzas are great, the drinks are big and I never leave there unhappy. Just an all around fun place. I do wish they'd take reservations for larger groups .

    (4)
  • Andy E.

The specialty pizzas are the best around. The glasses are so cold that it often freezes a thin layer of beer around the rim for a couple minutes when you first get it. Irish nachos (thin fries covered with cheese sauce, green onions, and pieces of bacon) are your artery's worst nightmare, but your taste buds delight. Their fried pickles aren't as good as the Pump house and if you want to go here, chances are so did everyone else so it will most likely be Very crowded. Service usually isn't too much of a problem. That's right on par with what you'd expect in most cases considering how busy it is. With the pizza and beer being an amazing combination here as well as it's perfect location for walking off the meal on the pier this establishment would have a 5 star review if they simply had more room. Also, if you plan on visiting in the winter, call ahead. Their hours change and if the outside is closed they have very little seating.

Silver Beach Pizza housed in circa 1910 train depot a few hundred yards from Lake Michigan...with a kids fountain directly to the West and a carousel directly to the North...enough of the distractions. A couple of fellows received a 'blessing' from Valparaiso's Gelsosomo family to open up a pizzeria here in St. Joseph. Thin crust pizza w/slightly sweet sauce, great toppings include their own sausage recipe. Service good - when it's busy, it's a little on the loud side...though it's very popular and you may have to wait - but it's worth it. Sunsets great, too.

A real surprise. Great pizza, service and vibe. Have a schooner to re-hydrate after spending time on the beach.

We kept hearing that we should go to Silver Beach pizza while we were in town and we finally did late Sunday and very glad that we did. My wife and I are both trying to eat low gluten or gluten free so a pizza place wasn't typically going to be that attractive, but we threw caution to the wind. Turns out - they have gluten free crust available (they do buy it and don't make it so lord knows whats in it) and it was decent. The overall feel of the place int he old train station is pretty cool and this is clearly one of the more popular places to go in St Joe. The beer selection was good and the pizza toppings and sauce were very good.

Awesome pizza, highly recommended. The problem is, I typically sit at the bar to eat or order carryout, and I've never received good bar service. I'm an ex-bartender of many years, and the few times I've been there, the bartender could have had a bigger check (and TIP!) from me if there was any attention paid at all. My recommendation, Call ahead for carry out and enjoy the pizza at home.

  • Wink B.

Pretty decent pizza, same as the rest of the Gelsosomo's chain. Coldest beer I've ever had. Otherwise it is contrived, ultra-touristy and annoying like the rest of downtown St. Joseph and Silver Beach.

I lived on the East Coast until I was 25. I've had lots of pizza all over Boston and New York City. I love pizza; it's my FAVORITE food. That said, this place is tied (with Santianello's) for number one pizza in the State of Michigan.

The best pizza in the area. Fun atmosphere, good for parties, casual business lunches, & a GREAT place to take the family! We've been here several times and never have had a sub-par experience. Im not quite a pizza person but the small Carousel I had is really good. I came in town for biz and only finished half of it, 4 slices.... But I couldnt stand not taking the other half back to my hotel. Had two slices the next morning as breakfast. Still yummy~~ Staff is friendly too

This pizza is amazing, not greasy with great flavor. And they are always very busy. I do recommend that you don't wait for the last min before dinner time hits if you don't want to wait, they also have limited parking by the building. They have some very good pizza's to choose from so I highly recommend it. The Chicken BBQ Pizza is very good. And I do like the Red and Green dot system they have.

I was part of group of 16 people who, at the last moment, converged upon this establishment on Monday, October 18. They quickly accommodated us and promptly took our food and beverage orders. The wait staff was absolutely fantastic, especially since we were bouncing around between a few tables. They managed to keep all the tabs individual and correct. A wide range of goodies were consumed with no negative comments. Cheapie me didn't order anything, I just snatched from the plates of others and it was all wonderful, especially the pizza.

What a terrific place to take your family! Either eat inside in the comfortable, rustic booths or outside in the covered porch area where you can view Lake Michigan as well as watch the kids frolic in the Fountains or ride on the Carousel. Oh, did I mention that the pizza is the best in the area, always voted #1. Just be prepared to wait if you visit during the rush hour.

Lots of beer on tap with very good variety. Excellent service and excellent food. We tried the spinach and artichoke dip and it was one of the best we had (we've had a lot). For pizza we had the BBQ Chicken which had Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ, chicken, pineapple, and red onion. The pizza came out piping hot from the oven and was absolutely AMAZING!!! Come early for seating but don't leave St Joseph without trying it!!!

Delicious pizza and usually great beers on tap! Service has almost always been good. Of course there have been a couple of off-nights. The only thing thing that could make this place better would be to use fresh mozzarella.

Not only was this place a perfect spot to watch the breathtakingly colorful sunset overlooking Lake Michigan, but the food and drinks were amazing too! We went with a group of people that I had met that day, so we shared several things. The greek bruschetta was perfect and literally melted in my mouth. The cheese fries didn't last five minutes from when our (excellent) server, Lyndsey (sp?) put them on the table. The hummus dip was also wonderfully perfect. We shared three pizzas, I only ate the BBQ chicken, I could have happily eaten the whole thing, but didn't want to be rude, the flavors combined into the best BBQ chicken pizza I have ever had. My partner tried all three and said that the pepperoni pizza topped her list as the best ever from all her travels (that says alot!) I don't remember the third pizza which is probably because their drinks were delicious. I was scared to try a Michigan style margherita due to a bad experience the nite before, I was assured that I wouldn't be disappointed by a margh from silver beach pizza, and wow! It was just like the ones from San Diego. Had some of their infused vodkas as well, Ahh refreshing as the Sun dropped. Also I loved the art work painted on the wall, it created for interesting conversation amongst our new friends.

I'm a pizza snob, I hate to admit. Being from Chicagoland, then living away from it for some time, I'm hesitant to try anything but those pies from around Chicago. When my family wanted to eat here, I moaned on the inside. "This crappy beach pizza couldn't possibly be good." Wrong. We ordered a garlic, tomato and spinach pie and it was remarkable. Maybe a top 5 pizza I've ever had. Ice cold Oberon, good service, and good location are pluses. My only negative is that the crust is too limp. You almost have to eat it with a fork. The location is great. No, this isn't some San Diego sunset viewing on the beach joint, but as far as the SW MI coast goes, this is as good as it gets. Most beach front is private property or park, so this isn't too shabby. Great spot in a great town.

Good pizza, best in town possibly. Just a short walk from downtown, and in the center of everything on Silver Beach.

Pizza is great and we also had great service from our waitress. However, the hostess did not want to sit us after 9pm even though we called and were told the place closed at 10pm. Luckily, another host stepped in and let us sit down and order. The waitress was astounded the hostess gave us a hard time. Anyhow, we loved our pizza and will definitely come back. Hopefully that hostess who was annoyed by our presence won't be there the next time we visit.

This is really a satellite, if you will, of Gelsosomo's pizza in northwest Indiana. The guy who owns this also owns a car wash in Crown Point. Staff is quite young but the male bartender is hialrious and it's a decent place to drink at. Problem is all Gelsosomo's pizza seems to have gone down since they won local awards years ago. The pizza tastes OK but it is very light and unsubstansial, with a sweet sauce as mentioned in the other review. Some of the other menu items can be downright terrible. Also, even though this is off the bluff, that doesn't mean it is on the beach; quite far from it.

This restaurant was suggested to me when I recently visited St Joseph. It was perfect - great pizza, fun atmosphere (lots of beach volleyball players there celebrating after a good game), and we enjoyed seeing a train come in as we ate our dinner. There was a 20 minute wait when we arrived, so we hiked up the hill to look out over Lake Michigan from up high until our buzzer went off. All in all, a great summer evening and a perfect place to spend it at.

Usually I really love this place. However, I went to it on New Year's day and they opened at 4:00pm. At 4:15 I ordered a pepperoni pizza and they told me they were "out of pepperoni". Ok, that is like an ice cream store out of ice cream. Absolutely no excuse. I will re-write next time I go but this time it was bad.

Great location! Silver Beach pizza is walkable from anywhere in downtown Saint Joseph, and is a real destination when the weather is nice. Outside eating is extremely fun. The food is awesome and unique, with traditional and experimental pizza styles (try the Garlic Greek). We've had OK service from the staff on one occasion, but mostly it's terrific. Try it out!

I love this place! Its got some of the best pizza in the area. Especially the specialty pizzas like the 4 cheese. The spinach/avacado are too die for. Staff is very friendly and overall its really affordable.

My gf and I usually stop thru on the way to Saugatuck from Chicago. Excellent pizza and wings w/ fast, friendly service. Good prices and the location on the lower plaza near Lake Michigan can't be beat. Hands-down: a great place in downtown St. Joe!

Silver Beach pizza is located right at the Amtrak station, so close to the beach. The best moment here was when my brother rolled in on the train from Chicago, and we sat outside practically on the beach for the sunset. Delicious pizzas and really cold frosted schooner's.

  • Jeff P.

Wow, from all of the positive reviews, we expected better. After a beautiful day at Silver beach, we walked over to try the pizza. First of all, you CANNOT SEE THE BEACH from the restaurant, even from the patio (where we ate). There is a fountain under construction that will be in view. We ordered pizza and "regular lime" margaritas. The drinks were the stickiest, sweetest, greenest concoctions we have ever encountered. They also were twice what they should be in cost, with not even half the amount of alcohol. The pizza was flat, greasy, and not saucy enough. The kids liked it, but we were unimpressed. The patio seating was worn and dirty-tired looking even. Expensive and overrated. We will not be back!

This place was like night and day compared to Schu's. This was the last place we ate before heading home. Service was great. Hostess was very friendly both when we arrived and when we were leaving. Waiter was attentive and our pizza was great. They have a little disc on the table, one side is green the other red. If red is up it means "I need something please" and if green is up it means "Leave me alone". We flipped it to red when my fiancee wanted another diet coke. Our waiter was busy with a big table so another waitress came over right away to ask what we needed. EVERY restaurant should do this. There was also a suggestion card in the bill which I happily filled out with rave reviews and deposited in the box as we left. It said "Every review is read by the owner and the manager". Also a great idea. We sat outside which was very nice. One of the employees went out of his way to put up a few umbrellas when he saw the sun was shining right on me. The serve beer in big "schooner" glasses as people watched football on the flat screen behind the bar. I would go out of my way to go back to Silver Beach Pizzza for the great service, the yummy pizza with the flaky crust, and the nice newly remodeled restaurant. Next time I'm going before we're headed home, so I too can enjoy a cold schooner of beer in the warm sun!

    (4)

  • Bryan W.

  • Justine M.

AMAZING!

  • Miles S.

  • Rosann F.

NICE!

Who would have thought there would be such tasty pizza outside of Chicago?!? Be adventurous and try the different pizzas the have. Thin crust is the best Irish nachos a must try. Fun place. Awesome location for a meal after being at silver beach all day

Had lunch here today on a chilly July afternoon and it was delicious! The Carousel pizza was amazing! I would highly recommend it!

I would have to say that this is the best pizza place in town. They managed to get six medium pizza orders complete within 30 minutes, along with a dozen other orders. I recommend the take-out area for visitors as we weren't able to view the actual restaurant.

I have been here many times and love the food! Service is hit or miss but the food is great and we love the patio which is probably harder to serve! Must try in St Joseph, Mi!

It has been a while since I sat out on the patio and this place has really upped their game. The atmosphere is awesome and they are extremely well staffed. We specificaly went for the Berry Margaritas served in a schooner and were not disappointed from the service to the margaritas Love this place!

  • c d.

  • Ezhil K.

Amazing pizza and great ambience. Has 2 bars with a large TV in both. The staff is friendly and give prompt service. Highly recommend!

Pizza is really good, nice crispy crust, good ingredients. Greek salad was average. Definitely order to go, as the wait to eat there easily goes over 1 hour.

The location is interesting but the food is solidly mediocre. We had pizza, salad and sandwiches and the frickles. Okay, not great. The service was much better than the food. Go, if you don't have to wait for hours, to take in the atmosphere but keep a low bar set for the food so you won't be disappointed.

Joe.

Good food and nice waitstaff. Always busy when we're here and I love the location...Beautiful views of the water and passing trains and its walkable from downtown St Joseph. We enjoy their Sicilian pizza, crisp salads and good beer selection including the basics and several of michigan craft beers.

  • Mario G.

YES PLEASE!

  • Casey W.

    (4)
  • Maham K.

I've given this place a few tries. For some reason the crust always comes soggy and the sauce is too sweet for my liking. If by get the hype about this place and almost every time we've been there our waitresses have forgotten that we are there. It's seriously average pizza in my opinion.

Bravo!!

Good location and decent pizza. Again its not Chicago great- but its a fun(and loud) place to go. Be warned on Friday or Saturday nights during tourist season- its packed and service suffers due to the crowd. I liked my italian beef sandwich and antipasta appetizer.

Best pizza around. I lived here for a few years and it's the best. Flaming chicken pizza is to die for.

  • Debbie G.

Great Gluten Free pizza. Hard to find good gluten free pizza and they did it right. Service was good. Staff was attentive, but not pushy. Well worth the hour drive.

--I love this place!! Lunch, dinner or later its always amazing, usually packed out to the brim especially on the weekends, but if you can go at sunset and sit out in the patio it is worth it, such a great view of the beauty of God's creation --Start off

  • Jen D.

This probably my favorite pizza. Garlic Greek with a Green Bush or Stella, does not get much better than that!

  • Angie M.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
